Nikita Mamedov, piano, performed at Weill Hall at Carnegie Hall in New York on March 14, 2009 as a Grand Prize winner of the Music-Fest Auditions. He was also chosen as one of twelve top high-school classical musicians in New Jersey for the 2008 Algonquin Arts Rising Star Program.

Kristin Shiu, soprano, is a finalist in the 2009 Classical Singer Magazine High School Vocal Competition, and will compete in the second round of the competition at the Classical Singer Convention in Chicago in May.

Julia Maxham, Katelyn Hannel, Christopher Siu, Vincent Ransome, and Nikita Mamedov, all piano, and John Maxham, violin, will participate in the New Jersey Music Teachers Association (NJMTA) Spring Recital Auditions in April, 2009, at Westminster Choir College. Julia, Christopher, Vincent, and Nikita all received High Honors or Honors in the 2008 auditions.

Ian Lawson and Alexandra Selvaratnam will participate again this spring in the Music Educators Association of New Jersey (MEA) Auditions for piano.

Stephanie Kovacs, art and guitar, will have her artwork displayed this spring at the Zimmerli Art Museum of Rutgers University, as part of an exhibit of exceptional artwork of Bishop Ahr High School students.

Joshua Goldstein, violin, plays and performs with the Garden State Philharmonic Concert Youth Orchestra. Joshua was also accepted to the Middlesex County Academy for Science, Mathematics, and Engineering Technologies, where he will attend this fall.

Harley Keh has been performing with his class at school as piano soloist at assisted living communities and nursing homes in the area.

Elizabeth Baran performed at the piano in hospitals and nursing homes this past holiday season as part of a community service project for school.

Eric Silverman, guitar, has been performing with his band, Strike, at various locations in New Jersey.

Amy Suznovich, soprano, will graduate this May from Ithaca College with a Bachelor of Music degree in vocal performance.

Molly Hampsey is studying voice in the music education program at Rutgers University’s Mason Gross School of the Arts.

Theresa Donohue and Victor Thomas are continuing their piano and musical studies and playing chamber music at Boston College and Washington University.
